Pips Hope and Support

PIPS Hope and Support is the leading, independent advocate in the Southern Trust and Newry, Mourne and Down Council areas on all aspects of suicide, including; intervention, prevention, postvention and current trauma in order to reduce and prevent suicide, self-harm and emotional and mental distress. With premises at 50 Mill Street, Newry, PIPS Hope and Support deliver outreach services across the SHSCT areas including Armagh, Banbridge and Kilkeel which are all kindly supported and reliant on by donations from the local community and businesses.

PIPS was formed in 2003 after the death of CEO Seamus McCabe’s son, Seamus, a 20-year-old student from Bessbrook. Formerly known as PIPS Newry and Mourne, the charity is a one-stop shop and Protect Life Resource Centre, providing information, emotional support, counselling and compassionate assistance for those in crisis, those bereaved through suicide and those experiencing current trauma
